The Origin of The Japiim River

Once upon a time, there was a yellow-rumped cacique living in the forests of Mâncio Lima. Black and yellow feathers were part of its beautiful royal robe and the soul of the woods dwelt on its blue eyes. A perverse man decided to kill it just because he thought its singing was awful. Wasting no more time, the man shot the bird and, in the blink of an eye, the woods spirit, full of fury and sadness, petrified the unscrupulous assassin. As a father who loses his son, the spirit embraced the bird; turning it into the famous Japiim River.
